As we are well into autumn, we thought we’d share two very autumnal recipes with you to enjoy this Halloween! And with apples being an autumnal fruit, it’s perfect for the season!

Have a taste of autumn this Halloween with our simple recipes!

Apple Nachos with Manuka Honey

Who ever said that nachos had to be made with chips? This easy dish is great as a fun snack, or even great for breakfast! You could prepare a plate for trick or treaters this Halloween as a healthy, sweet treat!

Ingredients:

  • 3 apples – you can use regular apples, or you may choose Granny Smith apples for improved taste!
  • 2 tablespoons of Manuka Honey
  • 2 tablespoons of melted peanut butter or almond butter
  • Granola
  • Pecan nuts, almonds, or other nuts of your choice

Of course, you can add any ingredients that you’d like! To make it a sweeter treat you may choose to add chocolate chips, melted chocolate, or melted marshmallows too. I’m sure the kids would love that!

Preparation:

  1. Slice your apples and spread them on a plate
  2. Drizzle the Manuka honey and peanut butter/ almond butter over the apple slices
  3. Sprinkle on the granola, pecan nuts and any other ingredients of your choice

How quick and easy?!

Since this is a no-bake recipe, the natural, beneficial enzymes of the Manuka honey remain intact, providing all the antibacterial properties! Why not give it a go for yourself?!

Manuka Honey Roasted Apple Toast

As autumn settles in you may want to treat yourself to an autumnal themed breakfast – maybe on the weekend when you have slightly more time.

This is not your average toast. It has the perfect combination of apple, cinnamon spice, and sweet Manuka Honey!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Manuka Honey
  • 60ml of Water
  • Cinnamon
  • Cream Cheese
  • Bread of choice
  • 1 apple of your choice – peeled and sliced

This recipe can be made with any type of toast your desire, the trick is to make sure that your slices are thick, so they can hold the roasted apples! The Manuka Honey also adds a beautiful, natural sweetness to the caramelized apples.

Preparation:

  1. Add the Manuka Honey, water, apple slices and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat. Make sure to stir it occasionally until a caramelized consistency is achieved.
  2. Toast your bread of choice – remember thicker slices!
  3. Spread cream cheese on the toast
  4. Top your toast with the caramelized honey apples

And here we have an autumnal, heart-warming breakfast!
