Is it a myth or a fact that Apple Cider Vinegar helps promote weight loss?
It’s a fact, for a variety of reasons. To begin with, Apple Cider Vinegar is a fatty acid that your body transforms into acetate and hydrogen which helps you to digest your food more efficiently
There are a few areas in which Apple Cider Vinegar can help with weight loss, which include:
Lowering your Blood Sugar Level – keeping the metabolism running to its optimum
Increasing your Metabolism – getting your body to burn calories quicker
Burning Fat by encouraging your body to dissolve fat and dispose of it
What’s more, Apple Cider Vinegar generally creates a sense of fullness in the stomach & digestion system which helps to suppress your appetite and decrease calorie intake. A win-win
According to Johnston and Buller’s (2005) study on glycemia, they identified that people who had apple cider vinegar with a high carb diet had 55% lower blood sugar, which resulted in them consuming approximately 250 calories less per day.
How can we add apple cider vinegar to our diet?
It’s easier than you think. All you need to do is have 1 tablespoon before every meal, ideally in water or you can add it to fruit juice. You don’t want to dilute it too much so just double the amount of liquid to the apple cider vinegar is sufficient. By taking apple cider vinegar before you eat, it helps to prepare the stomach for food which enables it to process it more efficiently.
You can also add it to a salad dressing but, in a drink is our preferred method.
Remember, the vinegar can be a little off-putting because for us, it reminds us of fish & chips, but by putting it into fruit juice it eliminates the association and most of the smell and works just as well.
